Stella M. Brian

Stella M. Brian, age 71, of Sumner, Illinois passed away Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois. She was born March 8, 1953, in West Salem, Illinois to Albert and Evelyn (Griffin) Jackson. On October 9, 1971, she married James L. Brian, and he survives.  

Stella was a farm wife for many years. She also worked as an aid at the Pine Lawn Nursing Home in Sumner, Illinois and did some sewing for a bridal shop in Vincennes, Indiana. She was a member of the Eureka Church of Christ south of Claremont, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Della Riley and Alberta Brian; a half-sister, Irene Dorney, four half-brothers, John and Gene Dorney and Leroy and Robert Jackson, and a infant brother.

Surviving along with her husband James, are a son, Nathan L. Brian of Sumner, Illinois; a sister, Rose Riley of McCleansboro, Illinois; two half-brothers, Stanley Dorney of West Salem; and Dale Dorney of Keensburg, Illinois.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:30am at the Eureka Cemetery south of Claremont, Illinois. There is no visitation.
